Swatches

I've been making swatches as I practice my knitting skills, and I thought I'd post them now, so I can look back on them at some point and laugh at them. :)

Garter Stitch

My first swatch, to learn the knit stitch. It's kind of blobby, but I was very proud of it at the time.

Stocking Stitch

My second swatch, to learn the purl stitch. Lovely curly stocking stitch.

Basket Rib

A texture swatch to practice slipping stitches and yarn forward/yarn backward maneuvers.

Bramble Stitch

Another texture swatch, to practice increases and decreases (k1,p1,k1 into same stitch; p3tog).

Celtic Plait

A more complex swatch to practice cabling (C6F, C6B, T5F, T5B).

My Second Scarf

I actually made this the weekend of the 16th/17th but haven't gotten around to posting about it til now.

My First Scarf

I taught myself to knit a few weeks ago. The ladies from jewelry roped me into it - we're turning into a silversmithing/foreign restaurant meeting/knitting kind of cult or something.

Anyway, here's some pics and info on my first project.
